Objective
JAFER (Java Access For Electronic Resources):
A Java based toolkit for building Z39.50 clients and servers funded as part of the JISC DNER programme aimed both at programmers and web developers building resources for teaching and learning. It is intended that the software will be easily configurable by non-technical users via the GUI interface, or by more advanced users via the XML configuration files and JavaBean properties.
We are also looking at implementing Z39.50 over SOAP and XML.
