JAFER ToolKit Project - General Web Site

Demonstrations

Some early versions of the prototype software have been deployed:

GeoWeb Based Reading Lists
With the assistance of the SERS web applications developer, we have added a reading list generation option to Oxford's web OPAC. This generates HTML snippets that can be cut and pasted into web pages to produce reading lists such as the ones listed here. (These reading lists include hyperlinks back into the library catalogue using a servlet component of the JAFER ToolKit.)
WAP Interface to OLIS
Secondly, we have developed a WAP interface to the Oxford catalogue! To access just type http://dev.lib.ox.ac.uk:8080/olis.wml into a WML/WAP enabled phone or PDA. Alternatively you can see an emulated version.
BookHAD Search Interface
We have developed a search interface for the RSLP BookHAD project. The search interface allows the combined searching of the BookHAD partners catalogues for books on the history and design of the book.
Music Libraries Online Search Interface
We have developed a search interface for the e-lib Music Libraries Online project. The search interface allows the combined searching of the UK music conservatoire's catalogues.
OMRAS Music Content Search Prototype
In conjunction with the OMRAS (Online Music Retrieval and Search) we have developed a prototype demonstrating how content based searching can be added to a traditional library catalogue (in this case the Oxford Libraries catalogue).
ZServlet
ZServlet is a web to Z39.50 gateway for sessionless HTML display of information from a Z39.50 server. It is intended for use when needing to link to a single record from a reading list, acquisitions list, abstracting service, etc. where the overhead of a session-based gateway is not required. It is currently in use at Oxford University for all three of these services.
